Concentrated Whey is the least processed, most popular, and least expensive form. It contains 70 to 80% protein and because it is less processed, it is richer in beneficial nutrients naturally found in whey. The second is Whey Isolate, a processed form of whey protein containing 90% or more protein and less lactose and fat. This is definitely the best form of Whey if you&#8217;re looking for more protein and fewer carbs. The big difference? Casein is a&nbsp;slow-digesting protein. It releases amino acids into the bloodstream slowly and steadily (up to 7 hours after consumption). Casein is therefore&nbsp;anti-catabolic: it helps reduce the breakdown of proteins in the body due to its low digestion rate and continuous supply of amino acids. Calcium caseinate is produced through different chemical reactions. This process is quite aggressive and deteriorates the micelles of the casein. It is the least digestible form of casein. Whey is quickly digestible and increases protein synthesis. It is rich in&nbsp;leucine, which is the most anabolic amino acid. Whey also has a very satiating effect that can help&nbsp;reduce fat&nbsp;and lose weight by making you eat less. Whey protein requires less processing than casein protein, which undergoes many chemical processes and also makes it more expensive than whey. Whey is considered THE protein to take right after your workout. Casein is a great supplement to consume before bed, as it helps fuel your muscles during sleep, making it easier to restore and build muscle.
